Do you want to get into selling Amazon products as an affiliate? If yes great there are a ton of products you can sell through Amazon and many of them have lots of searchers and low competition. Did you know that Amazon accounts for around 80% of all physical product sales? That number is huge so that means most people are going to trust buying from Amazon, this will make your job easier if you follow my recommendations.
The turn off for many people is that Amazon only pays out 4 to 15% depending on the number of sales you generate. This is a good thing because it means less competition and more room for easy profits.
The key to making good money with Amazon is to sell mostly high priced products. Plus once you get the traffic flowing to your Amazon links it’s passive income so you can continue to grow it into a considerable chunk of change. I must warn you passive income is extremely addictive.
Signing up to the Amazon Associates Program
There are a few ways to get signed up as an Amazon associate (affiliate). The easiest is to set up a Blogger blog and choose the Amazon module, it will then send you to sign up for your Amazon associate account.
When you have signed up for your account be sure to log in and read the rules also called operating agreement. Specifically you’ll be using the ‘Associates Central’ area of Amazon’s site which requires a separate login than your Amazon account you use for buying products. If you can’t find the site do a quick Google search for Amazon associate.
Getting Your Affiliate Links And Tools
There are several ways to promote Amazon products, you can use their display widgets or get individual links. From my experience creating reviews on individual products works the best and widgets add a bit extra income.
The easiest way to find individual products to promote is to go to Amazon’s main site and browse for potential products, then log into Amazon’s Associate portion of the site in a new tab. Once you log in you’ll see a search box which will allow you to search for any product on Amazon’s site and see if there is an affiliate program. You should know that not all products are available for affiliates to directly promote.
Amazon will give you a list of potential products and the price point of each. What you’ll want to do is select a product and open it in a new tab. You’ll use the information on that page and rewrite it to pre-sell the product on your website. Then just stick in your affiliate link which Amazon gives you. It’s easy and doesn’t take long.
